RO service
What a proper RO service includes
An RO purifier is a chain: sediment and carbon cartridges protect the membrane, the booster pump pushes water through it, and valves and a pressure switch decide when to start and stop. If one link fails, the rest work harder and wear out sooner. A real RO service checks every link — not just a quick wipe of the outside.
Our RO service checklist
- Measure input and output TDS
- Inspect and replace sediment, pre-carbon and post-carbon cartridges if needed
- Check membrane rejection rate and flush the membrane
- Test booster pump pressure, pressure switch and solenoid valve
- Sanitise the storage tank and lines
- Check the flow restrictor, waste line and all fittings for leaks
- Test mineral / alkaline and UV stages where fitted

Why RO needs care
What happens when an RO is not serviced
-
Membrane fouling
Clogged pre-filters let sediment and chlorine reach the membrane and shorten its life.
-
Higher water waste
A tired membrane sends more water down the drain for every litre you drink.
-
Pump strain
Low inlet pressure makes the pump run longer and hotter.
-
Bacterial growth
An unsanitised tank can grow biofilm, causing smell and taste problems.

RO water purifier service — FAQ
How often should an RO purifier be serviced?
A check-up every 3–6 months and a full pre-filter change every 9–12 months. The membrane usually lasts 1.5–2 years, longer with good pre-filtration.
Does every service mean changing the membrane?
No. We only replace the membrane when the TDS test shows it is no longer rejecting salts properly.
Is RO water safe to drink without minerals?
Yes. Many purifiers add a mineral or alkaline stage to improve taste; we can check or replace it during service.
How long does an RO service take?
Usually 45–90 minutes, depending on how many cartridges need changing.
