Water Purifier Maintenance Guide
Simple daily, monthly and yearly care for RO and UF water purifiers that keeps water safe and prevents expensive repairs.
A water purifier is easy to forget until it stops working. A few simple habits keep the water safe and the purifier running for years.
Every day
- Keep the purifier switched on so the tank stays fresh.
- Wipe the faucet and outer body with a clean cloth.
Every month
- Check under the purifier for drips or damp patches.
- Listen for a pump that runs longer than usual.
- If you have a TDS meter, note the reading.
Every 3–6 months
- Replace or clean the sediment cartridge.
- Book a technician check-up and tank sanitising.
Every year
- Change the carbon and mineral cartridges.
- Test the RO membrane and replace it if TDS has risen.
- Clean your roof water tank — it feeds the purifier.
After a long absence
If the purifier has been off for more than a week, drain the storage tank twice before drinking. If the water smells, book a sanitising service.
